Mechatronics Engineer · Penang, Malaysia

I turn ideas into working machines — from autonomous robots to production-ready prototypes.

I'm Liau Zhi Jun, a Mechatronics Engineer who specialises in prototyping and product development. I bring concepts to life with SolidWorks, 3D printing, robotics, and IoT — and I write the clear documentation that turns a prototype into something a team can actually manufacture.

About

An engineer who builds, tests, and ships.

I'm a detail-oriented Mechatronics Engineer with a passion for prototyping and product development. I've designed mechanical systems in SolidWorks, brought them to life with 3D printing, and streamlined production with clear working instructions that reduce assembly discrepancies on the factory floor.

My work sits where mechanical design, electronics, and software meet: robotic arms with machine vision, IoT systems on embedded hardware, and electro-pneumatic automation. I graduated from Universiti Malaysia Perlis with First Class honours (CGPA 3.81), building on a diploma with a 3.88 CGPA.

Beyond engineering, I served as an Officer Cadet Sergeant in PALAPES UniMAP and led a publicity team of ten — experiences that sharpened my discipline, leadership, and ability to deliver under pressure.
